::Author::  Name::Andrea From::Small city/town, B.C., Canada I am a short girl from the west cost of BC, Canada and I am a proud Canadian. I went to Japan in 2000 because my Dad told me I would regret it for the rest of my life if I didn't. He was right. I lived a good life found my husband from the other side of the world and have a beautiful daughter. Basically we lead a pretty normal life filled with normal ups and downs. We both come from different cultures: me Canadian, him Chinese. Living in Japan was a real eye opener about who I am and about the people I associate myself with. I lived and loved in Japan but the time to move on came upon us and in May of 2006 we left and moved to Canada: a huge move for us all. We are now trying to start up again, remodel our lives and create our future for our family. I now feel like a tourist in the country of my birth, my eyes see different and my life will be forever changed. Saturday, February 16, 2008 Observations of a mom In the last day, maybe two, Lil'Miss Ji has developed amazing hand and eye skills when holding a pen. At the beginning of the week her drawings still looked like something out of a modern art scrap book but now they actually look like a drawing. She is adding details and little fine lines to perfect her drawings. When she paints she is actually trying to paint one area in a specific colour and not splash it all over. It has been quite facinating to notice and watch. Most of the time she draws using her little etch-a-sketch (the BEST three dollars I have spent on her and recommend one to all parents out there) and she has a tendancy to delete the masterpiece before anyone really gets to check it out. I noticed the painting changes yesterday and really noticed her drawing ability today. I reacted immediately after she deleted an excellent drawing of a dog and grabbed my camera for her next masterpiece. Being a bit of a showoff she LOVED the idea of me taking a picture of her drawings so was all intent on creating some lovely masterpieces today. These are the result.
