Monday, August 01, 2005 Ranting Got my first birthday card of the year from Uncle Ron and Aunt Anne. -Happy Birthday for the 6th. Hope to see JiXiang before she graduates. I would really like that as well. Especially as I have no desire to let my daughter enter the Japanese school system. But after the letter I received last night I recommend that people start buying airplane tickets if they want to meet JiXiang. Why? We got a letter from the embassy that is processing Li's visa. Now I can not go into specifics, but basically they pointed to a letter that we never responded to but am pretty DAMN sure we never received. They then said we had 30 days to collect the papers that they had requested in that letter. Papers that had already been completed and sent in the original god damn immigration package!!! AUGH! I just rewrote a very polite business letter pointing out all of the above with photocopies of EVERYTHING!! Being a pack rat can be a good thing and it is situations like this that is the reason why I am a pack rat. I am mailing it by very expensive, speedy but safe mail (as I have everything else I have ever sent them) immediately after work today. I have no idea what the hell is going on. I recently read this CBC report about how the government is trying to speed up the immigration process, blaa blaa blaa, and how stressful the entire process is for the families. STRESSFUL!!! This word does not describe the feeling in my very upset stomach at the moment. How about 'hair and nail pulling torturous fucking HELL!!!!' No, even that is not strong enough. After reading the letter last night my bowels went into contraction overload due to the stress that instantly set in. Li and I had a ten minute bitch session but then spent the remainder of the night in silence. There was nothing we could say, there is nothing more I can do after I mail the letter. We can only wait, yet again. I am sick of waiting. I have an empty block this afternoon, so I will phone the doctors office and check that I am not supposed to be raging mad at them. I have not been back home in almost two years and I really wanted to go home for Christmas this year. But I wont, not without Li. He can not even visit Canada!! We contacted my wonderful guy at the Canada Embassy here in Japan about whether or not Li could get a visitors visa. He said you could try - spent the money, do the paper work - but the chances of us getting the visa are slim to none because he already has a visa pending. AUGH!!!
