::Author::  Name::Andrea From::Small city/town, B.C., Canada I am a short girl from the west cost of BC, Canada and I am a proud Canadian. I went to Japan in 2000 because my Dad told me I would regret it for the rest of my life if I didn't. He was right. I lived a good life found my husband from the other side of the world and have a beautiful daughter. Basically we lead a pretty normal life filled with normal ups and downs. We both come from different cultures: me Canadian, him Chinese. Living in Japan was a real eye opener about who I am and about the people I associate myself with. I lived and loved in Japan but the time to move on came upon us and in May of 2006 we left and moved to Canada: a huge move for us all. We are now trying to start up again, remodel our lives and create our future for our family. I now feel like a tourist in the country of my birth, my eyes see different and my life will be forever changed. Sunday, July 31, 2005 Hello Kitty Got to work VERY early this morning. I miss judged how long it would take to get to the new day care house. I definitely do not have to wake up earlier. I am VERY happy about this. After the seat was put on my bike JiXiang and I went for a practice ride for both of us. Riding in a skirt is difficult. The seat is attached to the handle bars and I have to bike with my legs spread eagle. Everyone whom I have seen with this style of seat also has to bike this way. The fancier kind that would not have me biking spread eagle would not work on my bike and I would have had to buy a new bike. This way was cheaper, I just have to hike my work skirt up to mini height in order to peddle. A couple of moms in the comments below reminded me to pack a pillow in the seat. I have the perfect one that is just sitting there unused. I can keep it in a bag in the basket for when JiXiang nods off. Right now this is not a problem as she is quite enjoying being in the seat. There is more breeze, because we are moving faster, so it is a tad cooler. She is also fascinated with the ground zooming by. Today I stuck a safety pin into her little baseball cap (with a tiny bit of tape so it would not snap open) to make it a tiny bit smaller, so that she had proper sun shade on her face. Looks damn cute. I have to take a picture. Yesterday she and I went to the Seiyu department store to look for a couple of bike accessories that I wanted and a possible rain jacket for her. She thought it was totally cool because she now gets to sit in the special baby designed shopping carts. The cashier asked if she was a year old. 'Uhhh no???' Personally doesn't look it either. I found a rain jacket. She is fitting in size 70cm clothes now and this jacket is an 80. Bit big but it will work. I also found a rain hat this is WAY toooooo big but works if there is another hat underneath. Both are covered in 'Hello Kitty'. Sorry kid.
