Cheri I'm sorry

Due to canceled classes, holidays and no shows, I have only two classes today and I am NOT complaining.

JiXiang went to bed perfectly last night and I followed as quickly as I could. She woke up just before 4, normal, and I felt great and almost perfectly rested. She ate and fell back to sleep again.
Alllll perfect EXCEPT she decided to wake up at 5 this morning and chat with me about life.
UGH!
I am tired yet again. Not as bad as yesterday though. It helps that I have taught only one class at this point in my writing of this blog.

This weekend is a long weekend. YAA!!!
Monday is what is called 'Umi no hi', or Day of the Sea. I am not one hundred percent sure but I think this day was created because it used to be the previous emperors birthday. In Japan the Emperors birthday is always a holiday. Well rather then get rid of this holiday when the new emperor came to power (his birthday is just before Christmas) the Emperor decided that because he loved the sea he would change the day to Day of the Sea.
We treat this day as the official start of Summer and it is when the beaches official open for business. They are always open but now we have to pay to park and there are venders all around.
I could be wrong about the origins of this day but then I could be right. I dont feel like checking to see as I dont really care. All I care about is that it is a long weekend and I need to relax.

Tomorrow I need to phone my friend Cheri first thing. I need to beg for her forgiveness and tell her I really do think about her often.
I forgot her birthday.
The worst is, I think she actually phoned me on her birthday and I never clicked in!!
I am a terrible friend.
I have done this to her before about 7 years ago. We went out for lunch that day and I never clicked in that it was her birthday. I felt so guilty!!!!

After I grovel and feel like a totally tool, I am going to get my nails done and veg the whole time. Li is taking JiXiang whether he wants to or not.
Then we have to go BBQ shopping.
This weekend we have TWO BBQs to attend.
The first one is a goodbye party for Oewen and his family. They are moving to New Zealand this month. Now I have been informed by KiwiKelly that I have been spelling Oewen's name VERY wrong. His name is very Irish, I am told, and is pronounced very differently. It is pronounced 'own', as in 'I own a car'. This I knew before but never had any idea how to spell. Kelly thinks it is spelt 'Eoin'. I will get confirmation this weekend and then will have to change all the captions under my pictures.

The second BBQ is on Monday and has been casually organized by our buddy Taka. This is a no reason party other than to get together with friends. I am hopping he brings his son and wife.

Only problem is that I dont really want to go. I just received another email from Amazon telling me that my new Harry Potter book has been shipped. This means I will get it tomorrow, hopefully in the morning, and I would rather spend my weekend in a vegetable state reading it. I think I will bring it to the BBQs and attempt to read it there. Find myself a good shade tree, put down the blanket, and Ji and I can laze out in the shade reading and playing. Yaa!!
Actually I think I may have a very good weekend.
