Last weekend Li was in Nagoya partying it up with some friends. I cant tell if he enjoyed it or not. He came back in a bad mood and complained if being old. Basically I think the realities of hitting 30 and being a working dad are kicking in. He can not party like he used to. He gets tired quickly and can not sleep in very well.

anyway..
They went bowling and most bowling places here have a bit of an arcade gaming area to play in while you wait for a lane. They were playing and Li won this baby Whinnie the Pooh. It has batteries and when you press its paw it sings different songs and moves in a crawl like motion.
He was all excited and brought it back for JiXiang.
IT TOTALLY FREAKS HER OUT!
Very funny. Li doesn't think so.
Just sitting there she is interested by it. She reaches out to it and wants to inspect it. But turn it on and her face contorts, her eyes bulge out and she starts doing this 'holy shit it is freaking me out' type cry that sounds a lot like her telling us to TURN IT OFF!!
This annoyed Li and he was determined last night to get her to not be afraid.
- She can not fear something like a toy! It is not healthy.
I played along for a little while but then started getting mad at Li, telling him to turn the damn thing off. Ji and I went for a walk around the house. She was very pissed at her daddy for showing her the toy. I brought her to the washroom to talk to the girl in the mirror. Li was in the living room and pressed the bears paw again. Even in the washroom JiXiang started crying.
She was not going to accept that stupid bear.
I think it is because it plays with a really loud out of tune sound. She was raised with good blues and jazz music. The bear just grates on her senses.
