Monday, June 27, 2005 I am totally not in a good mood. I am sick yet again. I HATE RAINY SEASON!!! Hot then cold then hot then muggy then cold then airconed to death. It is no wonder that pneumonia is common in the summer here. After work today I am going to the import store before I pick up JiXiang to buy some RICOHLAAAAAA!!!!! It is the only thing I can think of that will help with my sore throat and is not medicated. So JiXiang is sliding all over the floor. I now have to clean more often and am not thrilled by this. JiXiang is though. Her first teeth are coming in, so last night I fished out her first special baby style tooth brush. It is really a rubber chew stick but she thought it was pretty cool and even held it herself. I believe in prevention and would rather spend the time to try to create good teeth now then deal with shitty teeth later. I had shitty teeth and I dont want to think about the money costs let alone the crying and time off headaches involved. I am worried about fluoride though. They say that babies should be getting their fluoride from breast milk the first years before they get it from the dentist and toothpaste. Fine. Only problem is that Japan does not put fluoride in the water here. Hence, Japanese people generally have TERRIBLE teeth. I import my toothpaste as even the toothpaste here doesn't contain fluoride. The only one that does is the imported one, Aquafresh, but I dont like the taste. In our original plans we were going to wait until mid August before we made any more longer stay decisions for Japan. We were hoping that Li's visa came by then. If not we would talk to his boss about extending his work contract and staying most of the winter. On Friday Li's boss asked us for a decision about staying now. He is having troubles finding decent employees so needs to start hiring now for the September madness at work. We have until the end of this week to answer. We kind of decided between us that we would agree to stay to the end of December. I really wanted to be home for Christmas but I can not control everything. Most but not all. Hehehe There is a bit of a glitch though. Li thinks he is going to have to say no to his boss because there is no transportation for him to get home as of September. His two rides from last year are no longer there. One guy quit and the other one retired. The taxi (bus doesn't run late and doesn't have a stop anywhere near the factory) is ridiculously expensive and not worth it. His over time hours will be basically paying for the hundred bucks a week in taxi. We will find out on Friday. I really wanted JiXiang to be in Canada for Christmas because I already bought her a Christmas dress.
