Yesterday we went to Hamamatsu for the Kite festival.

This was neat. The kites are HUGE and require a couple people to help get them into the air. It is actually a kite fight where the kite handlers try to cut the other kite’s strings with their kite. Very interesting.

We then headed to the city and went to this area that had been set up with thirty different country foods.

Hamamatsu is a neat city. It is one of the most multicultural in this area and very alive. There is a HUGE Brazilian population there. So big that the mayor of Hamamatsu has been actively campaigning to get permanent residences the right to vote.

We ate in this 30Foods Park. Li fell in love with Brazilian style BBQ and I went for these great sandwiches. The booth where I bought my food from had a Sudanese guy, a Turkish guy, a Canadian, a Pakistani via USA, and a Brazilian all working together. This is Hamamatsu!!!

Then it was Yaitai time. It is sooooo loud!! But exciting.

We took many pictures with the new camera that we still do not understand. We also took some video but they all look like shit. We have more studying to do. Hmmm.

Here are the pictures.
