Blaa blaa blaaa

Be prepared for today's blog to be loooonnnngggg ramblings of nothingness.
I have three canceled classes today due to meetings, and because I am overly organized, or efficient depending on how you look at it, I have nothing else to do but BLOG!!
.....
Blogger has a store.
Bad thing.
They have T-shirts with the blog symbol on them. I think I am going to buy one as I am such a total freak.

.....
Last night JiXiang and I had our bath together. She is sick but still has tons of energy. She loves to bounce up and down in the tub and then lets her legs float. She is all fascinated with the weightless feeling of her legs when they are in the water. She gets a kick out of it. She practices running in the tub. Makes my arms exhausted though. Kid is getting heavy!
She also loves to just lay there and soak her head.
Basically she first plays by bouncing and running and killing mummy's arms. Then she has to sit on my lap and subject herself to the sponge and soap. She is a typical kid and gets all annoyed during this part. But then it is hair washing time and she is just like me - she loooovvveesss getting her hair washed. I always put a bit of conditioner in after the soap and that is washed out by her laying in the tub all relaxed with the cloth on her chest so she doesn't get cold. She loves it. She totally relaxes, sucks her thumb and kicks lightly off the tub wall so that she has a bit of a rocking motion. My arms love it as she is not as heavy in this position.
By the time her bath is finished she is in sleep mode. Daddy takes her and creams and powers her all up for bed while I wash off and finish my bath rituals.
She falls asleep in bed very easily after her bath.

JiXiang actually falls asleep very well on her own.
I read in one of the baby books that I inherited, that this one mother had a hell of a time trying to get her son to sleep on his own when he hit one. Before that she would always let him fall asleep in her arms while breast feeding. She loved how peaceful it was but it backfired on her later.
Well I decided that I totally could not afford this problem seeing as I had to return to work so early. JiXiang had to learn to sleep on her own. We explained this to Li's mother when she was here and she went along with us on this. She was vigilant in having Ji fall asleep in her rocking chair instead of in her arms. This has worked great as now Ji remains very calm when you buckle her into her chair.
I am also able to now - bath her, nurse her, lay her on her bed, kiss her good night and leave the room. Ji rolls over, puts her thumb in her mouth and falls asleep.
I am then able to finish house work or spend 10 minutes reading a magazine.
Much needed down time.

...

The other day we noticed JiXiang playing with her hangy toys for the first time.
Her rocking chair thing has a bar that goes over top that has some stuffed toys hanging off it. JiXiang has never given then any attention before. Well the other day she was in the chair and Li and I were doing dinner, she started reaching out to them and batting them around. I had attached this moose toy to it a while back and this one fascinated her the most. She was holding it and turning it in her hand inspecting it. Much like a scientist would really. Li and I just stood there and watched her trying not to interrupt her. I then video taped it for the grandparent folks
BUT I still can not download it so later!!!
GRRR
....
I had nothing to do but I was just now delivered this GIANT package of papers to sort out. They are a replacement for my Friday the 13th screw up.
Later. I am blogging right now. Hehehe
....

Those of you who check my comments may have noticed that Ro left me a comment. CaliGirl did. I was so excited!! Ro is Rosie!!! I phoned M so quickly all the way in Canada. I had to tell SOMEONE and she was the only person I knew who would be available and know who Rosie even is. It was a proud head swelling moment. Ahhh...
My husband totally deflated me as he has no clue about American celebrities.

The other day we were watching TV and the celebrity file was talking about all these different people. It showed a picture of Jodie Foster very pregnant. I turned to Li
-WOW! I didnt know that she was pregnant!!
= Ya she hasn*t phoned you in a while.
-Plefffff!!! (@_@)
Shit head.
.....

I wish I could attach pictures from my work computer. I would take a picture of all my men in blue.
No not cops.
Our work uniforms are blue.
In Canada the police men and fire men look pretty damn sexy in their uniforms. Here they look like over age school boys.
There uniforms are not very form fitting or flattering. They wear these white belts that make them look like cross walk attendants if there wasn't a gun attached to it. The hats for our guys have this classy look to them. Her they have these helmets that are just bigger versions of the high school kids bike helmets. If it wasn't for the guns I really wouldn't be able to tell them apart from the attendants or the annoying people with the light sticks trying to direct traffic.
The woman's uniforms are not much better.
Ahh female cops. I feel sorry for them.

Li's mom noticed VERY quickly when she came the big difference between women and men in the work place here.
With all the shit that people spew about China all the time the carefully leave out the fact that China is actually ranked second or third in all of Asia for woman's equality. Japan is way down near the bottom, somewhere around 14.
Male cops drive real looking cop cars with full leather interior (I know this cause I have been in one when we thought our bikes were stolen). The women drive different cars that look like little a cheap version of the old Beetle.
I have never seen a female cop and a male cop in the same car together.
This morning there was a group of freshmen cops straight out of the academy with their luggage in hand about to report to the police station near the station. Not one girl.
This year my company hired 30 new people. Not one girl.
In Japan almost all offices have a suit and uniform policy. There are very few that have a free dress policy. The free dress woman are allowed to wear pants. But almost all offices demand puke coloured uniforms with stupid pin on ties, and I have not seen in all of my five years a single woman in a uniform with pants. Even in the winter.
We have to wear SKIRTS in the winter wind and freeze our jigaboos off!!!
Now here at my company there are two types of woman jobs. The office worker woman wear skirts, the lab assistants wear a much more practical pant thing. But the skirts suck and are very sweaty in the summer. I sit on a pillow in the class room because I sweat all over the place if I sit on vinyl with this stupid skirt.

Dont get me wrong. I actually like wearing a uniform.
I like not giving a shit if it rips, I just get a new one.
I like being able to sleep in and not worry about what to wear.
I like that I dont have to buy nice suit clothes all the time. I dont even have to buy shoes as they are provided as well.
I just wish we could wear pants in the winter.
