Yesterday we spent the entire day at the park. The weather was beautiful and actually a little hot. I burned slightly. I told Li I would and needed to buy one of those old lady parasol umbrellas but he kept making all these scrunched faces at the thought. I burned a bit.

Here is JiXiang all decked out for the park.

Rengeji Park was full of people for the FujiMatsuri. No not Mt. Fuji. My little town of Fujieda is spelt with two kanji and the first kanji means wisteria flower, so the official flower of my little town is wisteria. We have wisteria motifs EVERYWHERE. The lamp posts have wisteria on them, the station decals, the city paper and the man hole covers all have wisteria on them.

And the park is FULL of wisteria vines all beautifully pruned and up on these excellent veranda type of things. Dad was fascinated with them when we brought him there. He was amazed with the pruning.

Well they are now in bloom and so beautiful. The smellllll……

Last year Kim and I took tons of pictures as it was so amazing. Here is the link

Regeji Park 2004

My pictures this year involve many more people because we went during festival time. The place was full of kids painting. There was a mother daughter or father son painting competition going on and Li was checking out all the pictures. There was some great stuff. It also gave such a wonderful feeling to the whole place. There were lots of neat wisteria bonsai trees as well. These are soooo cool. And there were bands playing on the open air stage.

I took pictures but I haven’t developed the film yet so here are some pics from my cell.
