FIRST
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!

I did basically nothing but sleep this last weekend. We had a typhoon that whipped through here with AMAZING force on Saturday night. It made me all restless and I had NO SLEEP!
It is VERY strange to be getting a typhoon in December. It has cooled down but it is not that cold yet. We have not turned on any heat for the house yet. Literally. I have the heating carpets set up and the kotatsu tables are there but nothing is plugged in. The aircon has been off for almost 2 months now. Saves tons of money on electricity. I only turn on the one hot carpet to low when I am teaching and that is only for an hour at a time twice a week. I actually get too warm at night.

So on Sunday I slept for a long time and then Li and I went shopping. We actually did some baby shopping. I bought a baby bag - have to take advantage of sales when they happen - and we checked out some other stuff but we couldn't find anything that was on our list. We didn't feel like heading all the way out to the big baby store. Another day.

I was still in a very restless mood, so I headed out to Shizuoka by myself for absolutely no reason at all other then to go for a walk and do something. The trains were all out of wack because of the typhoon but I got there and went strolling along heading nowhere.
My feet took me into the book store - big surprise - and I bought the entire CS Lewis 'The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe' Chronicles. Seven books in total, all for 20 bucks. I was happy. I have never read them. I have only read the wardrobe one and I was so young. It will be interesting to start in on that.
I finished my other book on that hellish Saturday night.
It was very interesting by the way. I quite enjoyed its little twists and intrigues. Here is the cover:

Then yesterday I went to the doctor for my regular check up again.
I think I have mentioned this before but I will again - it brings such peace of mind to get an ultrasound and receive a picture every time I go even though it is sooo expensive. I am never worried about the baby. I can see with my own eyes that everything is A-O-K! I is expensive though. Fifty bucks every time even with insurance. But I happily pay.
This week the ultrasound was way cool!!!! I am going to attempt to scan it and put it into this blog. I hope it works. The baby's face was sooo clear and looked right at us when he put the photo thingy over its face. It made this big pucker up blowfish face and a pffff thingy before almost smiling. Totally my kid! Hehehe The picture turned out great.

I showed Li the ultrasound picture when he got home and he was all eeehhhhhhh. He is just as fascinated as me that we get these pictures. It is a little scary to see the baby's face before it is even born.

Doc said the baby's growth was perfect -that was the word he used. When I asked if it was a long baby he said yes, very long. Ugh. He also said that the major bruise like feeling in my side was actually my colon being kicked to death and not to worry. Oh ya, phff, no worries, extremely uncomfortable though.

Then I spent the day house cleaning and vitamin buying. I also rented a few videos. Then I kicked back and relaxed by cutting out flash card games. Requires a bit of concentration so your brain shuts out all other shite.
