Well I have tons to write.

FIRST!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO NILS AND ZOLEENE FINISSON !!
Today, Sunday in Canada, they celebrated their wedding day.
I am very sad that I missed it but I am so happy for you both.
Enjoy your honeymoon. LOVE YOU GUYS!

I realized last night that I would not be in the family wedding pictures and was a little peterbed by that. I better get a wedding picture from you two though.
Actually, umm, thought, do you guys have one of us?? Let me know, please.

OK other news.
I am not upset with the downstairs lady. She called the apartment people to tell them to fix our balcony as the seals have worn away. She never said we were wrong in any way. She was totally upset when Li talked to her to find out what was happening with the balcony. Li called the apartment people and was quite pissy at them. He made them come out on a Sunday, as it was his only day off, to look at the balcony and get it fixed. They came and he chewed the guy out for calling Sumitomo instead of having the decency to call us. The man understood.
Hehe
So my Saturday was pretty normal - cleaning and stuff. I did check out this other baby store and was very happy at its cheap prices. I know where to look in the future. I was REALLY happy when I noticed that they carry basic maternity wear, including bras and underwear. I am now no longer worried about maternity clothes. They had jeans-type pants and some perfect dresses, oh, and overall things that look soooo comfortable. I didn't buy anything because I dont need anything yet. Only looking.
I then had a very positive feeling Japanese class.
Li came home from work and was tired so he put on his pissy attitude which only succeeds in turning on mine, so I hide in the bedroom with a book for the night.

NOW Sunday was COOL!
I slept in a bit on Sunday and then headed to the City Office concert hall. They had a TaikoMatsuri on. Yes a whole day of Taiko drums. SOOOO COOL! There were 27 different teams from around Shizuoka Province. They were all from different taiko groups and each played for only about 15 to 20 minutes each. It made for a very interesting variety of music. The neatest thing was that non of these people were professionals. There were VERY young kids who could barely see over the drums to teenagers having a great time. There were very old keeping in shape and the most heartwarming groups (especially in this close minded society) were the handicapped and down syndrome groups. They were all great!!!!
Anne, there was this one kid out there that totally reminded me of Christina. He was in a wheel chair and appeared to have the same limited arm movement as her. Now I will admit that I have not seen her for a while so I am going on what I remember, but this kid was out there drumming away almost perfectly. He only made one mistake. He did have his minder (looked like his dad) that helped with timing but he was having so much fun. I could totally see Christina out there drumming away. I remember how much she loves to sing, drumming is just an extension of that.
I had a great afternoon.

Then it got a little stressful. Li has been racking his brain about the whole renting a car idea. He does not like the money total at the end of two years. He understands my plus list but the money figure has him squeamish. His theory turned to sending the baby to China to live with his parents rather than spend the money on a car. This of course does not and never will for as long as I live register or even penetrate my brain as a possible thought. He knows that and just says it to piss me off. Works.
So, he got on the phone with our friend Kouru, who is a car sales man and told him what we want and what we dont, what we can and can not do. Kouru thinks that we will be able to finance a small loan through his place if we have a co-signer and he is more than willing to sign if he is allowed.
Li made me go out and look and the cars that Kouru had available so that I could start to think about it. There were two: one larger size Suzuki 4-door, the other a little half engine size Suzuki 3-door (there is no door behind the driver, dont know why). Now the smaller one would work and the financing idea could work for us financially. It is just such a stressful decision. The cars are damn cheap. The smaller one with all the taxes and 2 years of this Japanese thing called Shaken would be 4 and a half thousand. In reality we could come up with that money in a few months because of Li's job but the idea of depleting our bank account right before the baby is born does not sit well with any of my gut feelings.
I am admitting that Li's idea seems to be working better in the long turn money end.
I talked about it this morning with one of my very trusted students and he agrees with Li's thinking but reminded me to ask a few questions about the car that I totally forgot to ask. Gotta do that.

And to top it off there is yet another typhoon hitting us and it is RAINING! Having a car at this moment in time is looking VERY appealing.
