I have decided that I love Amazon Japan. I ordered three books on Sunday afternoon totaling 30$ and they arrived on Monday afternoon. To make it even better there is no shipping charge over 10$!!!! SOOO COOOLLLL!!!!
The best place for books!!!
Anyway I had a relaxing weekend. Saturday was a dinner night with Dan and Li then on Sunday I took advantage of the clear skies and massively cold wind to wash a hell of a lot of stuff. It was all drying sooooo fast. Then some unproductive but fun time scouring the amazon page. Heheh
BUT on Sunday evening I went out for dinner in Shizuoka with my friends Jean and Kim. We headed to a Family Circle dinner party. Only woman. Hehhee
This Family Circle group is interesting. Jean has been trying to get me to go to some things for a while but I have never really wanted to. She has been holding up a strong case though - it is almost all foreign woman who have lived in Japan for many years, I am probably going to be staying here for many years, they all have mixed race children so when I have kids it will be a wonderful place to bring mine. I agree with them all and accepted when I was invited to this dinner.
I had a great time. What a wonderful group of people.
There were 15 woman in total. We had woman from;
Canada - married to Japanese men
America - married to Japanese men - one woman was actually born in Japan
Venezuela - married to a Japanese man - she gave me a really neat histoy story behind the symbols on her flag.
India - I think her husband was also Indian
China - I think her husband is also Chinese and I do believe he is a musician
France - married to a Japanese man
Madagascar - Beautiful woman married to a Japanese man
Then there were a few Japanese woman married to American men,
One Japanese woman with a Japanese husband but he is a painter
Then there was one Japanese woman who just got married whose husband is Senegalese and a Doctor. I think he belong to that Doctors Without Borders group.
Very interesting group.
One of the woman had written and published a novel. The one lady was a Spanish teacher and a journalist. A great mix. I had an interesting evening. I think I will join in with them a little more often.
