::Author::  Name::Andrea From::Small city/town, B.C., Canada I am a short girl from the west cost of BC, Canada and I am a proud Canadian. I went to Japan in 2000 because my Dad told me I would regret it for the rest of my life if I didn't. He was right. I lived a good life found my husband from the other side of the world and have a beautiful daughter. Basically we lead a pretty normal life filled with normal ups and downs. We both come from different cultures: me Canadian, him Chinese. Living in Japan was a real eye opener about who I am and about the people I associate myself with. I lived and loved in Japan but the time to move on came upon us and in May of 2006 we left and moved to Canada: a huge move for us all. We are now trying to start up again, remodel our lives and create our future for our family. I now feel like a tourist in the country of my birth, my eyes see different and my life will be forever changed. Friday, December 26, 2003 Has anyone read RAED latly?? Lot going on over there. wow. Today was the last day of work for the year. YES!!!!! One week on relaxation and basically doing nothing. Actually this is not true. I need to do the traditional Japanese year end cleaning. I forgot to ask my apartment manager about who replaces the paper on the stupid paper closet doors. I really do not understand the Japanese use of paper for walls and doors. Totally useless and they can not be cleaned. hmm. Maybe I will catch him tomorrow before he takes off anywhere. Today we had to do the BIG cleaning day in the office before we could head home. In Japan there are janitors for the common room areas but our own offices are cleaned by us. We have to do the weekly vaccuming and dusting as well as all garbage duties. Dont mind too much really except on days like today. BIG BIG cleaning days have us heading into the unknown corners of the office and laboratory and breathng in tons of dust. I ended up with the worst bloody dust allergy headache. It has only just stopped with the use of too much Advil. pfew My cat is staring at me like I am missing something. Not sure what that is though. OHH HELP!! MY cat sucks on plastic. At times I think that she is doing it to drive me crazy as the sound sends me spining but at other times I worry that she is missing something in her diet. I am totally against any vet bills so if anyone has any thoughts on that please share. She looks healthy so I dont know. Anyway tomorrow we are having a few friends over for a late Christmas dinner. Li is cooking of course. I am just going to spend the day cleaning and going balistic with the seating arrangements in my too small area. hmmm. Gotta sign off and go to bed. I have a long day tomorrow, or actually it is after midnight - I have a long day today. ZEN Truth underlies all. Because all is truth, nothing is excluded. Zhuang Zi said Tao can be found in excrement. This is because truth pervades everything. hehehehehehheehehe
