Tuesday, September 30, 2003 On Friday the 12th dad brought Li and I on our canyon tour. We headed out to Hope to look at the Othello tunnels and a bear ran across the highway on the way there. That woke Li up instantly and I did one of those freakout trips attempting to get the camera out of its case to take a picture. Too slow. Li enjoyed the tunnels even more when he was told that ‘Rambo-First Blood’ was filmed there. We even took pictures of the bridge that Sylvester Stallone walked across. Hehheee. Then we headed out to Hells Gate. I have never been there before. We hiked down and then took the tram up. Cool!! The water was low so it was even cooler!! I have talked to Nils some more about a link to pictures. Hopefully it will be up soon. I took pictures of the gates. WOW. Saturday the 13th was an interesting day. We were really lucky and timed things perfectly for the Agassiz fall fair. Mom brought us and we had a good day. Li petted and had his picture taken with every animal imaginable including a lama. He saw a real live tractor pull, baby pigs and a sheep dog demonstration. He saw Scottish dancers and square dancers. Ate BBQ chicken and went in a Ferris wheel. We also played roulette and made 5 bucks. COOL! Then later we went in a boat in Harrison Lake and Li got to play captain for a bit. Hehehe Sunday was spent with Dad and the Meister family. Li met almost all of them, which was so nice. I had a heart attack when I saw my second cousin Danielle who got huge all of a sudden. And beautiful. WOW! I think Li was a little surprised at the extreme height of my family but I did prepare him. It went even nicer when my friends Cheri and Heather showed up with our mutual friend Masatoshi. We had a great time. Danielle got us hoola-hooping - I did it!! - And she even got a soccer game started. I sucked. We had a very good time.
