I had one of the strangest coffee breaks today.

I walked in on Mr. Uesaka, Mr. Kishi and Fumiko discussing diet and Mr. Uesaka's weight.
Now I do not consider this man fat by any stretch of the imagination. He is perfect weight for his size and for a man that does almost no exercise.
He kept grabbing at his tiny fat rolls around his waist and I gave them a brief English class and explained the term, spare tire. Hehhe
That one always creates giggles here.
Then Mr. K and Fumi proceed to feel up Mr. U EVERYWHERE and check out all his fat rolls. Mr. K was even grabbing his ass to test its hardness.
I was just shaking my head in awe and then laughing myself silly.
'You guys are CRAZY!' I told them.
We then got into this long-ass discussion about exercise, diet and eating right.
Dieting is actually considered a pass time here. They love to diet in this country.
Personally they do not diet overly well. I thinks all dieters are crazy. Why do that to yourself. It aint worth it.
I say eat healthy and do basic daily exercise, killing yourself is not required, and your body will settle into its preferred weight that is just right for you. You can fight it all you want but is it really worth it? I dont think so.

Well Li started job hunting yesterday.
He was very quiet when I asked him about it so I wont ask any more until he says something to me. I took the silence as a bad day.
He and his mother desperately want us to go to China for Chinese New Year. I told Li there is NO way we could even consider it unless he got another job. We need two months to recover ourselves to just a basic recovery from Canada. It is going to be three months until we can save again.
He realizes this as does his mother but ........
It is a big time for Li. According to Chinese custom Li will turn 30 during the New Year and 30 requires a party and stuff. He does not want a party but his mother really does.
Li turns 29 in January but according to old Chinese custom all people turn another year older at the start of the New Year. Oh, and in China, as well as the old Japan, babies are one year old when they are born, not zero. So by this understanding Li was 2 years old when he was only 2 months old.
Crazy.

ALSO
Could someone forward me Ruth and Rick's email address. I totally forgot to get it from them when I visited. Stupid really.
Thanks.
