Thursday, May 22, 2003 Well I just got stuck by a needle with a nurse who never even used rubber gloves. Strange really but I have never had a nurse put on gloves when they have given me something or taken blood. Strange. Not very smart personally. Anyway I just had my doctors test. Not too thrilling. I was able to do the whole thing by myself with no translator. This made me happy. I made the doctors all happy because I filled out the doctor form before hand all in Japanese. They were very proud of me. I am only copying but what ever. My weight was not as high as I expected which makes me double happy as I am soooo PMSing and feel bloated beyond possibility. My eyes have gotten worse thought. I am pretty sure they are going to recommend glasses. I dont require them though. I dont drive so I will avoid it. I have a stigmatism and they are ALWAYS changing. I do have slightly higher blood pressure. It went up 10 points on both numbers from last year. I am guessing that this is an Alisha thing. I have been having a tough week of it. Crying at night and strange dreams. Not bad ones. Dont worry. Just dreams. Some have made me laugh but they always make me cry. I gave blood and had my lungs checked. No problems. Then had a chest X-ray. No problems. I am healthy, no worries. I dont have to do as many tests as everyone else, and I only have to see the doctor once a year. Just about everyone else here must see the doctor twice. They also have to get other tests done. This disgusting colon test and different cancer tests. It was all explained to me once. Basically there is a fear of cancer because this is a chemical factory. Makes sense. Those that handle chemicals in any way are required to do a series of pre-check testing. This involves their stomach and other areas. One of the most important tests is actually the strength test. That grip tester thing to see how strong your triceps and hands are. Well it turns out that the first sign for certain cancers is actually a weakening in this area. People are tested twice a year on this. I also have to go to a work party tonight. Mr. Ikeda is retiring and there are two new engineers straight from university. They still have baby faces. Wont last for too long. I dont really want to go. There is a 90% chance that there will not be enough food and I will go always hungry, which will piss me off because I have to pay my share which is 50$. Then I will probably end up at at least one after party. Ugh. Ill tell ya all about it later if it is worth telling.
