Thanks to the amazing Z this blog seems to be working again. It is a little embarrassing having to get her to help me figure this stupid thing out but quite technologically cool if you think about it. I am in Japan and she is in Vancouver and she fixes my blog page. Ain’t technology grand?

So I am now into day three of my holiday and I have not done any cleaning yet. I really must lift my aged tatami mats but I keep procrastinating and watching ‘Dark Angel’ instead. I have been having a craving for a TV show and I am all screwed up with ER because of the 5 months I was in Canada 2 years ish ago. Japan gets the show on video really late and I have seen most of what is now arriving. Makes things all screwy. I watched all of ‘Third Watch’ first season but the store hasn’t brought anymore in. I would be that happiest creature if they brought in CSI. Ohhhh make me very happy. I have NO like for Ally McBeal, she irritates me, so I have started watching Dark Angel. I am almost finished the second season. It is mindless entertainment and I enjoy it. That and Alex is way tooooo hot. Yummmmmyyyy!

Anyway yesterday Li and I checked out the town’s library. Total let down, no Chinese or English books at all. Well this is lying. There are Chinese and English books but all translated into Japanese and there are a nice long row of children’s fairy tales and nursery rhymes in English. No novels or anything like that though. So Li and I left there a little not surprised and headed across the road to the local junk dealer. This place is a typical looking everyday garage sale. Everything is covered in dust and you need X-ray vision to see what you are looking at but every once and a while you find some real gems. I found Mom’s Birthday present there last year. It is these really warpy salt and pepper shakers. I had a hard time wrapping them for her because I really wanted them for myself. Well yesterday on a far bottom shelf there was another set just waiting for me. Only 5$. YES!! And Li discovered two beautiful vases. I would never put flowers in them, as they stand alone as art pieces. They are that neat copper brass stuff that turns green around the edges. They look very good on the shelf and Li has been quite proud of his find.

Today Li got home early from his first job and wanted to get out of the house because it was so nice outside. So I took him on a wild goose chase looking for this furniture store that I never found and brought him through never seen before subdivisions and rice fields. He kept reminding me that he had to work at 7. No problems. We had dinner walked through a new ceramic shop and now he is having a nap as I write this before heading off to job number two.

He has also made me very happy because he gave me the go ahead on buying this couch we saw yesterday. It is perfect. That fake leather stuff, a beige colour and a three-piece corner unit. 600$ Ouch but the cheapest corner unit there. It will be a tiny big along the one wall of the living room. It will definitely fill it up but I really think it will work. I am actually really excited about this. I can get ride of the other THING in my living room. For some odd reason I think that Dan wants it. Don’t know why but hey if he really does, here ya go.

I am going to go and watch some more of Max kick some ass as a dark angel. hehhe.
