Wednesday, May 28, 2003 I am in a rebel mood at the moment. I have no scheduled class in this time slot and I have NO desire to do the work that needs to be done. I feel like putting it off dammit. I am hot and sweaty. I also would just love to sit and BS with some one right now but there is no one I can really do that with at work. Not during working times anyway. So I am writing to my blog about absolutely NOTHING. You may want to stop reading now. TinTin got a bath last night. She was actually a really good girl. She didnt whine anywhere near as much as she did last time. And she stayed fairly calm while Li was trying to blow dry her. It didnt work perfectly but it did help a little bit. This morning I gave her the little flea drops on her back. I have never wormed her. Should I? She does not get any human food and only hard cat food. I keep a cat nip plant outside that I bring in every once and a while to let her chew on some grass. (Speaking of which, I think it is in desperate need of water.) She has a definite rolly belly and I have never seen evidence in her shit. Mind you I am not really looking either. Are house cats supposed to be wormed? I have never had a house cat before so I dont really know. I am attempting to practice all forms of prevention with that cat to avoid any possible vet bills in this country. Last night Li had a holiday so we went shopping together and cooked dinner. I made the salad and the rice. He made the marbo tofu (a tofu mixed with ground beef and hot spices) and crab. We bought live crab and he cooked them. I despise the process and leave the general area when he is cooking them. I have a hard time coping with it. But I will admit that I eat it. Tastes damn good. Tonight I have the house to my self and I think I am going to do a quick email check, make a huge salad and watch CSI all night. CSI is the tapes that Z and Nils sent me. They sent volume one and volume two. Having experienced this and realizing how much I am truly enjoying the TV show in this video form I have decided that my next Amazon order is going to be TV shows. I dont care. I will splurge. I wish I could purchase DVDs because they take up much less room in my small space, but the world bodies have conspired against me and put stupid codes on things to make them work only in one country. This is why China rules! All DVDs work in their machine and their DVDs work in almost everyone else's as well. Kind of amusing but I was talking with this strange American guy a few months back. I think his name was Hugh. He spent the night at our place because of this big second wedding party that was being held and no trains after 11:30. He had just come back from Taiwan and was telling us about the museums. He said they were AMAZING. It is proven fact that the Chinese general that fled to Taiwan during the war with Mou (how the hell do you spell that) stole a shit load of Chinese art and artifacts. It is also a proven fact that some of the ships that were carrying these items sank and have never been recovered. Well according to him the museums in Taiwan were spell bounding. According to hidden fact, there is enough items in the basement of the museums to rotate exhibitions every 6 months or so for the next 10 years and you probably still will not have seen everything. Shanghai's museum was nice, but not that nice. We also started talking about the DVD's that I happily acquire from my new Chinese family. The government has been working, slowly, on cracking down on the people who produce them but not touching the people who sell them. We came to the conclusion that in a communist society DVD burning was totally acceptable and followed the original theory of Communism. We were drunk what can I say. He was an odd boy who had a fight with a British girl who's name I have forgotten, over the Gulf war. Janet and I sat quietly on the side like good little Canadians quite astonished at the BS that both of them were spewing. The Brit actually mentioned how her army was better at peace keeping because of all the experience they have had with Ireland. I will admit that I raised my finger to pick a few jabs but I silently lowered it, keeping up the appearance of a good Canadian. Hell I didnt want to get involved in that shit. Mr. Azuma (my head manager) is in a thinking mode and Mr. Iida is very happy because his computer just got fixed. Mr. Egusa is finally looking a little relaxed because his son came back from the hospital with a positive health check. His one year old son came down with this very rare disease that causes an extremely high fever for a very long time and there is the possibility of enlarged heart vessels. The boys second check after a month shows that things are good. He has been very stressed about this. Cant blame him. I am worried about Mr. H. He is starting to get that work stress look on his face. Mr. Y is comfortable in his own little world, periodically picking his nose and eating it. Then he wonders why he is not married yet. Everyone else seems to have disappeared upstairs, downstairs, outside or on business trips. Mr. K is extremely happy because he is going on a business trip to a supplier to use their laser drill equipment to perform some tests. He booked himself into a hot-springs hotel for tonight and is going to laze in the spa. You didnt hear that from me though. Hehehhe He borrowed one of my low level reading books so that he can practice his English on the train. He is a great student. Ugh! Mr. A just came back. The man is a horker and then chewer who would have been punched by me a long time ago if we were in Canada. He also love to fart what he calls little butterflies that flipping stink. The fact that he is married shows desperation on the part of his wife. YUCK!!! And to top it off my general impression of him from the very first day was of a man that likes to watch women work. Gotta go I think he farted and his desk in only 2 down from me. That and I have to teach soon.
