Major catch-up post

Sorry this will be a long post. I have a lot to catch up on. Totally behind.

I have been writing a series of posts in my head for days and have not actually put any of it down on paper. Sigh.

So where to start....

The basement bedroom is coming along very well.

The electrical is all done and I am proud to say that Hubby is the one who did it.

NO I lied there is one small bit of electrical switches needed but that requires the electrician. But the lights are all on!

And they are pretty.

Here is the closet under the stairs doors all painted up. I have one more coat to do.

I cut, sanded and painted the headboard extension for the bed and hubby hung it up. This is basically a shelf over the headboard and we have plugs planned on either side so there can be little lights, clocks etc.

Then Grandma and Grandpa J brought Lill'Miss and I skiing. That was by far the most exhausting thing I have done in a long time.

First Lill'Miss was great going up and then melted down when we got there. My ski boots of I don't know how many years literally disintegrated on the walk from the truck to the ticket counter and I had to rent boots and skis cause they thought my lovely skis were too old. Sigh.

Talk about aging you.

The last time I went skiing was with my sister just before she left for Europe. It was the last thing we ever did together, other than talking on the phone all the time, before she died.

Then Lill'Miss who has gone skiing before decided that she was incapable of doing anything because mommy was with her. The blasted tow rope ripped bicep muscles in my attempts to get both her and I up the bunny hill.

The annoying part was her skiing PERFECTLY, hands on her knees turning perfect and not hitting anyone all the way down with me right behind her and then her having to fall to stop and the huge smiles that followed. That wasn't annoying – that was great. The annoyance was her screaming and having a melt down because she could not stand up.

Longest 2 hours in a very long time.

Grandma bought her a ski package for the following week to have private lessons and what not. She did absolutely BRILLIANT and learned how to do the tow rope all by herself AND she learned how to stand all by herself. YES!!!!!

THEN

Lill'Miss turned FIVE on Sunday. Yes FIVE!!! Like OMG!!! She is FIVE!!!

AUGH!!!

We had a quiet birthday with her this year. She and I made cupcakes and brought them to her strong start class and the kids sang her happy birthday. She was thrilled!

And Grandpa and Granny got her the Mika teddy she badly wanted. She has been sleeping with it.

She had a great birthday.

Rather than hold an expensive party we actually went to the Home show and walked around. We saw some very interesting things. Hmmmm. Hehehe
