I am a short girl from the west cost of BC, Canada and I am a proud Canadian. I went to Japan in 2000 because my Dad told me I would regret it for the rest of my life if I didn't. He was right. I lived a good life found my husband from the other side of the world and have a beautiful daughter. Basically we lead a pretty normal life filled with normal ups and downs. We both come from different cultures: me Canadian, him Chinese. Living in Japan was a real eye opener about who I am and about the people I associate myself with. I lived and loved in Japan but the time to move on came upon us and in May of 2006 we left and moved to Canada: a huge move for us all. We are now trying to start up again, remodel our lives and create our future for our family. I now feel like a tourist in the country of my birth, my eyes see different and my life will be forever changed. This blog is my notes and observations of our life, our changes, our adventures and new beginnings. Welcome.

On this day in 1935 forty-three cm of snow fell on Vancouver, setting a 24-hour record for snowfall for the city. There were no injuries, but the roof of the Hastings Park Forum collapsed.

On this day in 2008 my job was crazy busy, I think I am coming down with this 24-hour flu bug that is floating around town and I had a Strata meeting today that I was not totally happy with. My daughter tied her first attempt at skating - unsuccessful as she was much too tired. While at the ice rink my mother koed herself and gave herself a pretty nasty concussion that left her with short term memory loss for a few minutes and her walking around like a drunk. Little scary.
Then my father phones to tell my that my brother had an ulcer in his eye that exploded, literally, and is far from being fixed and my step-brothers wife gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday (he failed to tell me earlier, grrr). Born 4 weeks early and he was still 6 pounds 5 oz. Lil'Miss Ji wasn't even that big and she was full term! Congratulations N, Z, C and new baby.

Wow was my horoscope totally wrong today.
