Canada Day 2

Sunday nights party was a little odd – lets just say the husband can not deny that I love him cause DAMN! Even he admitted it was a little odd.
He had a good time though, the food was pretty good and we went home with a GIANT bag of portabella mushrooms because our hosts were mushroom farmers. I have been handing them out to the neighbours cause it really is a giant bag.

Li got stinking drunk on Sunday evening and when we left ToddlerJi passed out before we got down the drive way and Li was about two minutes after that. He had his head propped against the window with his mouth hanging open in the most unflattering position possible. Ya attractive.
Then we are ALMOST home and I shake him awake and the goof notices that he had stolen someone’s slippers and had left behind his expensive runners.
GRRR!!! Had to drive all the way back!
But we got to see the fireworks this way.
Then we get home and he passes out on the sofa, ToddlerJi passes out in her bed and I have a long bath before heading to bed. At about 3 in the morning Li falls off the sofa and drags himself upstairs.
He crawls in to bed and not ten seconds after he crawls into bed he is wide awake turning the light on going, “What the hell is that!”
He got stung by a wasp that was snoozing on his side of the bed.
**snort**giggle*snicker**
Aint payback a bitch?
Hehehe

In the morning we headed out to Fort Langley to visit Opa’s grave and stroll through town.

ToddlerJi is always so good and always gives Opa a pat on his headstone and says hi. We watered the flowers and I cried a bit before we headed into town.
Lovely HOT day. We strolled lazy like all over and gave ToddlerJi a treat by bringing her to the CPR little museum there.

ToddlerJi has become fascinated with trains and loves to see them. The museum has a car and a caboose that you can go inside and check out. The caboose has a beautiful model train set up that this retired man has been volunteering his time for years. I met his wife, who sat patiently on a bench in the shade all day waiting for her husband. She said he had his entire two car garage converted into a major train set that he had separated into different time periods. He studies the periods meticulously and tries to recreate train stations that have been demolished over the years.

ToddlerJi didn’t know this, all she knew was that it was way too cool.
And just after we left the caboose a real train went by scaring the crap out of her as she is normally in a car when they go by. She was thrilled.

Before heading home we quickly stopped in to visit Oma and say hi. ToddlerJi would not let us stay too long – she was tired and ready to go home.

------------
Tonight while ToddlerJi and I ate dinner I called my father. After I hung up she looked at me all confused, “You talk to Grandpa?”
Yup
"But Grandpa gone. No you cant talk grandpa he is gone!"
After her saying this a few times I realized she was talking about Opa. I made a mistake a few times and called Opa Grandpa cause that was what he is to me. She misunderstood or made a different connection and it really upset her. It took me a little while to convince her that Opa was gone but grandpa was still here and that she was seeing him tomorrow.
Finally she went “OK” and returned to her noodles.
