Thanks Queen Victoria

Ahhh weekends like this last weekend make me very happy Canada embraces the English Royals!!!
Thank you Queen Victoria, God Rest Your soul – it was a lovely long weekend.
OH! And Happy Birthday Victoria.

Saturday was a sleep-in day for all of us and swimming class was a bust but ToddlerJi and I spent the rest of the day cleaning the house, scrubbing the floor, playing with puzzles, going shopping, going to the laundry mart and picking up daddy for a short drive during his lunch time off.
Li’s boss gave us a brilliant present on Saturday – a day off!!! Li now has every Sunday and Monday holidayed now!! YAAA!!! We can now have a family day every week. It was the most amazing happy feeling.

So we arranged to have a BBQ on Sunday evening and fire up our newly bought BBQ for the first time. I also bought some more sorting baskets and my main bathroom and pantry are in wonderful order now!!!

Then on Sunday Li got up and made us brunch then we were off to Harrison Hot Spring for a stroll on the lake and a pop into the different little art shows they had around town. We also bought ourselves seasons passes for the Sand Castle exhibit that they will have up all summer. Grandma and ToddlerJi had a blast running in the sand.

After that we scooted home and Li made a fabulous BBQ dinner of steak, shih kabobs and a brilliant spinach and asparagus salad.
Yum – we drank margaritas that I had made and had a lovely evening.

We slept in on Sunday.

And after having a pancake breakfast and removing more trunks from the basement in an attempt to pretend we are getting ready for a flood that I personally believe will never happen we headed out to White Rock to visit ToddlerJi’s Aunty Kristen.

The day was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The sun started shinning when we got there, the tide was out, ToddlerJi was able to see her Aunty Erica as well before she took off and then we headed out to the beach to play in the sand.

My stepsister’s landlord people are a younger family with two young kids. Their son is three and he and ToddlerJi had a brilliant time playing in the sand and wadding into the surf. They had a blast.
Kristen and I played with our cameras and tried out our black and white as a well as sepia modes. The photos were beautiful!! Kristen has the family shots and I haven’t gotten them yet. I’ll let you see them later.
These are some of my favourites.
It was a lovely day. And a lovely weekend.
