I am a short girl from the west cost of BC, Canada and I am a proud Canadian. I went to Japan in 2000 because my Dad told me I would regret it for the rest of my life if I didn't. He was right. I lived a good life found my husband from the other side of the world and have a beautiful daughter. Basically we lead a pretty normal life filled with normal ups and downs. We both come from different cultures: me Canadian, him Chinese. Living in Japan was a real eye opener about who I am and about the people I associate myself with. I lived and loved in Japan but the time to move on came upon us and in May of 2006 we left and moved to Canada: a huge move for us all. We are now trying to start up again, remodel our lives and create our future for our family. I now feel like a tourist in the country of my birth, my eyes see different and my life will be forever changed. This blog is my notes and observations of our life, our changes, our adventures and new beginnings. Welcome.

Spreading a little shit around

Last night I had my Monday night ladies and JiXiang was wowzing and dazzling them as usual. The one lady went
-JiXiang makes me forget all my stress and makes me so happy.

That’s me girl.

After 30 minutes of her bouncing around and invading every attempt at a conversation I could not help but notice that Ji stunk a bit.

-OHH LI!!!!
-What?
-Could you change Ji’s diaper please?

The ladies love it when he obediently appears and changes her diaper. Their husbands were pretty useless.
I handed Li a toy after giving him Ji, she tends to lay still better when she has something to concentrate one. The problem is that Ji HATES to be taken away from my English classes. She demands to be allowed full access to the ladies at all times and puts up quite a fuss.
Li took her out of the room and closed the glass door behind him.
We usually change Ji on the fake leather sofa: it is convenient, wide and has everything that you need is in easy access. We could hear Ji complaining VERY loudly to her father about being taken away, and Li complaing right back.

-JiXiang wait!
-JiXiang lay still.
-JiXiang don’t do that.
-AUGH!! JIXIANG!!!!

We were giggling away in the other room trying to keep our conversation going when really we were laughing away.
Next thing we know JiXiang has her face to the glass door and is blowing kisses into the glass and giggling. She was able to slide the door open and peered her head around doing this huge open mouth laugh, which made the ladies crack up even more. From around the corner a grumbling Li stomps with a very wet towel and proceeds to wipe at the sofa.

Ji got shit all over the sofa and on daddy’s hands.
