Monday, August 15, 2005 Yaizu Hanabi Festival & Hamamatsu It is hot and muggy but I should not expect less in the middle of August. So lets see… On Sunday night we went to the Yaizu Hanabi Festival. I took a ton of pictures but I will just show you a couple. Li decided to wear his full Yukata. Oh and mom bought a mask. Hehehe Then yesterday, Monday, we headed out to Hamamatsu. We met up with Kim and headed to the Musical Instrument Museum. This was neat because there were hands on sections where you could try out different instruments. A lot of the instruments also had little headphone sections so that you could hear the traditional instruments being played properly. Very interesting, very beautiful and even JiXiang had a good time. Then it was off to the bestest shopping store for gifts there is. Mom blew all her money but came out with great stuff. After this we headed to the Sunken Plaza which was holding a Matsuri of some sort. There we found excellent an Brazilian BBQ and cold drinks. We eat slowly then headed to Hamamatsu Castle by City train. Beside the Castle is a Museum that Kim really wanted to visit. To her horror and disgust it was closed. We were not the only people with misinformation as there were others standing at the door trying to understand why it was closed. So that sucked but we saw the castle. We then headed back to the Matsuri to see some traditional dancing and some drums. Mom like that. Then it was time to go home. I was tired, hot and in desperate need of a shower. I was about to turn into a crabby ass bitch Today is a blaa day of relaxation. Mom and I got pedicures and little girly pampering. Ahhh….. We got our toe nails painted all pretty. Mom is now addicted and is going for a manicure in a few days. hehe Today is Li’s last day of holiday and he needs a day of rest. JiXiang also needs a down day. She has been an excellent girl the last few days. Yesterday she did start to get a bit trying. The books tell you things like ‘if they are colicky, remember that this too will pass’, but they fail to tell you about the hells of an independent child. Now an independent 8 year old is hell no mater how you look at it but it is too be expected. An independent 6 month old is just a headache. It can bring moments of proudness but when your six month old is screaming to be allowed out of her stroller and let loose on the concret dirty ground in can be a little annoying. I finally relented in the end and let her stand and bounce. No crawling allowed. Ended up with dirty feet but a slightly happier kid.
