Sleepy Ji

MY BABY IS SEVEN MONTH OLD ALREADY!!!!
and
My munchkin is not sleeping.
She crashed for two days to make up for two weeks of granny fun and now she is back at daycare and back on track, so she wont sleep!!!
Yesterday she had a grand total of one and a half hours of napping at school. She played, sang, and danced away. She has discovered how perfect the safety bars are on the window at school for holding and bouncing away while singing to herself. For some reason this is not making her tired.
I brought her home in the rain last night and had to dress her in her rain jacket and hat for the first time. She looked sooooo cute, but I didn’t have a chance to take her picture.
She played and had a conversation with me when we got home, while I cooked myself a steak for dinner.
At 7 she started getting cranky for her usual 7:00 meal and to my surprise she crashed halfway through eating. She hadn’t had a bath yet and was sleeping off schedule.
I decided to let her nap. I folded laundry, washed the dishes and tinkered around the house, then made our bath.
I woke her up, which she didn’t complain about and we had our bath. She played, and splashed and brushed her teeth. I sang silly songs and made her giggle.
Got her all ready for bed, fed her her last meal of the day and laid her down.
Two seconds later, I am sitting on the couch checking out haircuts in the fashion magazine (I am thinking of growing out my hair) and I hear this slapping and a giggle.
(sigh)
JiXiang is standing and bouncing away having a conversation with this photo of Li and I.
At 9ish I told her she had no choice and that I was going to go to sleep with her.
Didn’t work. Kid stayed up till 10:30.
I’d lay her down; she would get back up. This went back and forth until I decided to hell with it- Ill lay down; she can play.
In the end she was sitting there, ramrod straight, thumb in her mouth, with her eyes closed. She would sway while sitting, then her eyes would fly open, she would rub them, then put her thumb back in her mouth, eyes would close and back would sway.
Silly kid.
This is when I was able to get her to actually lay down and stay down.
She slept straight till 5.
